FRIDA KAHLO meets CHUCK CLOSE....
a study in color relationships...

The image of Frida was projected on a a wall. Each student traced one or two sections of the painting from the projected image.

Studying first reproductions of her self-portrait, then learning about the work of Chuck Close, the student created their own image, using their own style of color "cells" to create the rich and dense colors of foliage and skin tones.
